we've changed our name to bevel
Yes, we've changed our name to bevel and our new web address is www.bevelmade.com.
Why? First, we had a trademark conflict with the name buildable and second we heard from many folks that hellobuildable.com was just too much of a mouthful.
More importantly, we have finally had a chance to catch our breath after the wildly sad and chaotic start to 2025 with my parents' house and hometown burning. (We hope you too are finding a moment to breathe.)
In that moment, we wrote down what we have known for sometime – the kind of work we're committed to doing – and the values that undergird our work. We'll share more over the coming weeks, but we're beginning with our new name.
bevel
A bevel is simply a sloping edge or a tool used to make a sloping edge.
A bevel is typically used to soften the edge of a piece for the sake of safety, wear resistance, aesthetics; or to facilitate joining with another piece.
Our core promise as we facilitate the journey of building or rebuilding is to help take the edge off the process: to make it more understandable, easier to deal with, and with fewer sharp edges.
So we like the idea of a bevel. It's attractive. It makes the edge softer and safer. And it's a detail that, when done right, adds a value that lasts long into the future.
We will be changing our look and feel soon too. Crisper, cleaner colors and logo.
Better yet, we've been working on a whole bunch of new tech we hope you'll find helpful and even a bit joyful, as you continue on your rebuild journey.
As we evolve, we're still the same crew – Adam, Aravindh, Hale… and now we're joined by another amazing technologist, Harel Williams.
We'll share more soon.
And if you have any questions or comments, as always, please join us in the WhatsApp chat group or email us at info@bevelmade.com
Thanks!
A, A, H and H. (yes, those are really our initials)
